Style 3: The Tailored Tafta (Chất liệu Tafta may đo)

Ordering áo dài for a whole team of groomsmen can be stressful. Most people worry about three main things.

Here are the biggest problems, and exactly how to solve each one.

Problem #1: “How do I get the right size? My groomsmen live in different cities!”

This is the most common fear! But don’t worry.

My Solution (How I build trust): We never use standard sizes like “Small, Medium, or Large.” An ao dai must fit better than that.

Instead, we have a very simple process. We send you a short video or guide showing exactly how to take 5 simple measurements at home. Anyone can do it.

Even better, we sew all our ao dai with a special “safety seam” (đường may dự phòng) inside. This means if the ao dai is a little tight or loose, any local tailor in your city can adjust it perfectly in just 10 minutes. It’s easy, and it takes all the stress away.

Problem #2: “I need 9 ao dai, and they MUST look exactly the same!”

You are completely right to worry about this.

My Expert Warning: Please, do not ask your groomsmen to buy their own ao dai separately. Even if they go to the same shop, they will not match.

Here’s why: Fabric is made in big rolls (cây vải). The beige color from a roll made in January will look slightly different from a roll made in March. If your friends buy at different times, their ao dai will be different shades of beige. It looks messy in photos.

• Buying/Custom-Making (Mua/May): This is always the best choice for a group, especially if you are overseas. You’ve chosen the perfect ao dai—now, let’s complete the look. The right pants and shoes are just as important as the ao dai itself. As your expert, here are my simple rules for a truly polished look.

What Color Pants Should You Wear?

You have two main choices, and they create very different feelings:

• White Pants: This is my personal favorite and the most classic choice. It creates a bright, clean, and fresh look. It really makes the beige ao dai “pop” and look more elegant.
• Black Pants: This is a safe and more formal option. It creates a strong, grounded contrast. I usually suggest black pants only if the wedding is a very formal evening event, or if the groom is also wearing black pants.
